Mission Australia Training Institute, in conjunction with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), offers the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Programme (LLNP).

The programme helps job seekers improve their English language, literacy and numeracy skills and increase their chances of gaining employment or pursuing further education.
Courses are provided in 160 hour modules, with a minimum attendance of 10 hours per week over 4 months and are available at no cost to eligible participants.

All courses are based on the Certificate of General Education for adults. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a nationally-recognised certificate of attainment.

The programme is offered to those in need of assistance in developing their literacy and numeracy skills, and who are:

A)   Job seekers aged 15 – 20 years
B)   Job seekers aged over 21 years receiving Centrelink income support
C)  Clients from non-English speaking backgrounds (who have completed the Adult Migrant Education Program).

Referrals to the course come from Centrelink or Job Network. Eligible students must contact their local Centrelink office to be referred to Mission Australia Training Institute’s LLNP.
